These pics are from Livingston, Guatemala. On the water taxi over there our driver stopped at this lagoon and showed us where this family lives, so neat! It looked a lot like Swiss Family Robinson style. We noticed these signs warning us about Coconuts falling all around the hotel and thought it was pretty funny, man that would hurt.Livingston soup, they are well known for it and it's actually amazing once you get past all the randomness inside.
Katie's parents came to PG for 10 days and we had the most incredible time! It was so nice having them here and it made us feel like real locals to show them all the hot spots in town (all thought it wasn't long till they started showing us the ropes). It was Katie's dad's birthday while he was here so we had Ms. Martinez (the vice principal) make one of her delicious cakes. It is to die for, baked from scratch! I can't believe how much birthday cake we have had since we have been here, it seems like we are eating that stuff at least every week. Can't say no though!
This picture is from Village Life, an event that took place in PG while they were here. Basically it involves people from the surrounding villages coming to PG and showcase dancing, singing, food and crafts. It was really interesting to see such a culturally rich festival. This dance was called the Deer Dance (I think that was the name) and is well known for a village close by. Their costumes were amazing but I can't image how hot it must have been under there!
